Not since the Monday Night Wars of the late 90s has there been a more interesting time to be a wrestling fan.
The formation of AEW, WWE’s international expansion and the determination of ROH and NJPW not to be left behind as they attempt their own respective national and international growths has led to a fascinating arms race for talent.
Already this year we have seen several top New Japan and ROH stars join the exciting new AEW venture, WWE sign several top indy names from around the world (such as KUSHIDA, WALTER, Ilja Dragunov, Kay Lee Ray, Trevor Lee) and the recent surprise departures from WWE of Dean Ambrose and Hideo Itami.
Seemingly every day there is a new story about talent unhappy in WWE and wanting to leave, as years of mismanaging certain performers comes back to haunt the promotion.
Although there is unlikely to be a mass talent exodus, it seems likely that several more names will depart WWE before the year is out. Here are some of the more likely:
