It was reported today that Tommaso Ciampa will require neck surgery. Ciampa was called up to the main roster 17th February episode of Raw. He teamed with Johnny Gargano in victorious efforts against The Revival and The Bar on that week’s Raw and Smackdown respectively.
Ciampa has not wrestled on WWE TV since then, and it appears that the NXT Champion will have major surgery this week, ruling him out of NXT Takeover: New York, as well as WrestleMania 35 two nights later. This will also mean Gargano’s former friend turned bitter enemy will likely have to vacate his NXT Championship.
With NXT boasting a great amount of talent, the list of names who could succeed Ciampa is staggering. In this list, we will rank the top 10 potential successors to Ciampa’s throne atop the NXT mountain as the next NXT Champion.
