Lance Storm, who wrestled for WWE between 2001-2005 has said that he will begin working with Impact Wrestling as a backstage producer/agent in the not too distant future.
Impact’s acquisition of the former Intercontinental Champion is no surprise given Storm’s close personal friendship with Impact Co-Executive Vice President Don Callis.
Storm broke the news in an interview with Figure Four Daily when he said “I’m going to be doing the agent/producer role for Impact Wrestling in the near future.” Storm later added that he will begin work on ”the March 22 and 23 tapings in Windsor, Ontario, which I think are their next TV tapings.” Storm would say that the job was ”not a permanent position”, claiming ”it is a bit of a test to see if I like the job and if they like my ability to do the job”.
Storm would also speak about how the move worked for him with regards to logistics: ”it’s possible because they only tape two days a month and it’s a Friday and a Sunday… and obviously I get along extremely well with both Don Callis and Scott D’Amore.”
This was an essential signing for Impact, not necessarily because of Storm’s talent backstage, but more because of the fact that both Sonjay Dutt and Abyss left their roles backstage at Impact to sign for WWE, leaving the company gutted of key producers and agents.
