Yet another title match was confirmed for WrestleMania last night when the finals of the Cruiserweight tournament took place on 205 Live.
205 Live stalwarts Tony Nese and Cedric Alexander, both of whom have been in the division since day one, met in a lengthy final bout, with the prize up for grabs a shot against champion Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania.
After a close back-and-forth contest Nese drilled the former champion with his Running Nese finisher to score the clean victory. Nese and Alexander shook hands after the match, then Murphy hit the ring and also hugged his ‘Mania challenger.
Of course, this being WWE the show could not go off the air on a positive like that. The promotion ensured it got its heat in by having Murphy drill Nese with a V-Trigger as he pointed to the WrestleMania sign. Murphy then posed over Nese to end the show.
