New Japan’s IWGP World Tag Team Champions Gorillas Of Destiny want fresh competition and they are casting their nets out far and wide to find it.
Speaking after their victory over long-time rivals EVIL and SANADA at Dominion, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa cut a post match promo in which they challenged teams from outside of New Japan to step up and fight them.
During the promo, which as you can see below was posted on New Japan’s official YouTube account, Tonga talked about beating EVIL and SANADA again and how they have already beaten the Briscoes repeatedly.
That prompted Loa to declare the ROH stars “old news” and declare that he wants “some new f****** blood”.
Tonga then threw out an open invite to any team on the planet, specifically name-dropping WWE Raw stars The Usos and The Revival and imploring them to leave WWE:
“You want some of us? Come. Usos, come. Hey, F.T.R, forever The Revival – come get some. Don’t let the fences over there block you in. Come out to the open and play boys. Come out to the open.”
Just to make it clear – there is almost no chance of this happening. Especially as the Usos are believed to have signed new long-term contracts with WWE earlier this year and The Revival are tied down until mid-2020.
Could WWE in its desperation to retain a waning audience buddy up to New Japan and try to form a strategic allegiance? Stranger things have happened but we would suggest the chances are exceedingly slim.
