Incredibly, WWE’s next pay-per-view Stomping Grounds is little over a week away, having been lost in the shuffle of Super Showdown.
WWE announced a number of matches for the event at the Saudi show, with two of them rematches from that show, one a rematch from Money in the Bank and one a rematch from WrestleMania.
Unfortunately it seems that nobody wants to see these matches.
Rarely has there been so little interest in a WWE pay-per-view event, with ratings for Raw and SmackDown at drastically low levels and no buzz surround the card at all.
That has been reflected in tickets sales, with the 23,000 capacity Tacoma Dome where Stomping Grounds will take place nowhere near full.
WWE has only set up the building for between 10,000 and 15,000 fans, with a large section of the building expected to be tapered off.
Nevertheless, there are still tons of tickets left for the event in all sections of the building, including some of the expensive seats that usually sell first.
You can see the tickets still available in the image below, which was correct as of this morning. The blue dots are the tickets still available.
Now, there is no doubt that come next Sunday the building will be made to look full by WWE via a combination of comp tickets, shuffling ticket purchasers around to one side and clever shooting angles.
Still, maybe this will get WWE to reconsider the way it is booking its storylines at the moment. How many more blatant signs that what they are doing is not working do they need?
