WWE announced a couple of hours ago that New Day would be facing the O.C. in a dream six-man tag team match.
Since then, it came to light that Vince McMahon had once again decided to entirely rewrite tonight’s show, so instead, we’re getting AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston in a singles match.
JUST ANNOUNCED: #WWEChampion @TrueKofi (w/ @WWEBigE & @XavierWoodsPhD) will battle #USChampion @AJStylesOrg (w/ @LukeGallowsWWE & @KarlAndersonWWE) in non-title singles action TONIGHT on #SDLive! #ChampionvsChampion
— WWE (@WWE) July 30, 2019
While AJ vs. Kingston is obviously an exciting prospect, it’s rather laughable that it’s been changed in the space of just a couple of hours, especially when the six-man bout itself replaced Big E & Woods vs. McIntyre & Elias that had been advertised up to today.
Jerry Lawler’s ‘King’s Court’ segment with Trish Stratus and Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler are still listed on WWE.com as of this writing.
We will have live coverage of tonight’s show here at WrestleTalk.com.
