It was reported earlier this week that Vince McMahon called for a complete re-write of SmackDown Live just hours before the show went live.
According to Fightful, this week’s SmackDown Live was one of “the messiest creative situations in recent memory”.
Fightful Select reported:
I was told this week’s SmackDown was one of “the messiest creative situations in recent memory” with a couple of re-writes and constant miscommunication between WWE and their social media departments. Ryan Ward, who is the lead writer was effectively “reduced to a typist.”
While the show was actually one of the better ones WWE has put together in the past year, it has to be said that these reports of re-writes are becoming more and more frequent and with writers being fired left, right and centre, it really feels like the atmosphere in the WWE creative meetings is becoming toxic.
