Tomorrow night, AEW will be putting on the debut episode of their Dynamite TV show on TNT.
The show is set to go head-to-head with a blockbuster NXT TV episode on the USA Network that is will feature three championship matches.
Ahead of tomorrow night’s big show, AEW Executive Vice President Cody spoke to the media.
On the call, Cody said that he owns ‘Bunkhouse Stampede’ and ‘Battle Bowl’, old WCW match concepts. He said that he might consider using them in the future for AEW.
Speaking of old WCW match types, Cody said that he might consider buying War Games from WWE. WWE currently use the gimmicked match at their Survivor Series-weekend pay-per-view at NXT TakeOver.
Cody told the media that he loves the match type and said that WWE doesn’t do it quite as well as WCW did back in the day.
The AEW star said that while the idea was his father’s, he doesn’t just want to steal all of his dad’s concepts.
While Cody might approach WWE about buying the match type, I fully expect WWE to reject his request.
