“Gypsy King” Tyson Fury will be competing in a WWE ring for the first time later this month.
The undefeated boxer will be going one-on-one with Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 31st.
A report from Dave Meltzer has now emerged claiming that Triple H said Fury actually approached WWE several years ago about working with them, but nothing ever came of it:
“Several years ago Tyson Fury approached them, and I don’t know what happened, it just didn’t work out. Then very recently they approached Tyson Fury. One of the things I heard is The Prince [in Saudi Arabia] — look, The Prince wants Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia. I don’t know that they’re getting extra money to bring in Tyson Fury, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all.”
There is no word on who Fury approached WWE with the idea of facing, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for any potentially new information on the matter.
With regards to Fury’s WWE future after Crown Jewel, it has been reported that his match with Strowman is a one-off and he is not expected to have another bout for WWE anytime soon.
