“The Dusty Position” is going to be the final stop for AEW wrestlers as they make their way out to the ring. Much like Notre Dame’s Play Like A Champion Sign, AEW wrestlers will have a chance to touch a Dusty Rhodes sign before they make their entrance.
However, the sign isn’t the only thing they can touch on the way out. The infamous cowbell Dusty used in so many strap matches is also hanging there.
Cody shared all this via a tweet today. Apparently it was a surprise for him today.
What a wonderful surprise to find in the Go Position…

Like the infamous Saturday Night Live skit says, more cowbell is always better.
It’s nice to see that AEW is honoring the past and the man who made it all happen in Cody Rhodes. AEW had done a nice job of tying in the modern style, but still keeping the connection to the past.
However, we hope Cody and others have learned from mistakes of those companies past to keep the momentum of AEW going strong. Maybe tapping the Cowbell and sign will keep both the good memories and lessons learned front and center as the company moves forward.
