For the first time since WWE did its first show in the country, The Undertaker will not be appearing at this month’s Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia.
‘Taker had appeared on adverts for the show, and it was therefore assumed that he would be appearing, but it seems as though WWE feels the show has enough star power to not need to spend money on the Deadman.
It’s been reported that WWE has spent $15 million alone on Tyson Fury, so a few saved dollars here and there will probably be welcome, not that the company is short on cash.
It could be that ‘Taker and WWE aren’t keen on having another match in the country so soon after the disastrous match with Goldberg earlier this year, which is regarded as one of the worst matches in recent years.
And speaking of Goldberg, Dave Meltzer believes that he too will not be making any kind of appearance at the show.
It seems that WWE feels that Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury will be enough of a draw, not to mention the cameo appearances from both Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan.
The biggest positive is that without The Undertaker’s entrance, the show will be an hour shorter.
