Fans of Paradigm Pro Wrestling in Indiana were in for a bit of a shock last week when an intoxicated indie wrestler pulled a knife on his opponent in an unscripted promo.
Wrestler Cole Radrick claims that Hy Zaya pulled a knife on his during his promo and that he was not informed that this would be happening beforehand.
The promotion later tweeted apologising for the shocking events that took place.
We would like to publicly apologize to @ColeRadrick regarding an incident that occurred following his match with @kerryawful on Friday night. It was inexcusable, and we will do better in the future. Please see our full statement below: pic.twitter.com/5s2WfPjWwo

Radrick also put out a tweet in which he claimed Zaya was under the influence and intoxicated when he pulled the knife, and that it was not planned, which seems to have been confirmed by PPW’s statement.
Last Friday, I had a knife pulled on me and held to my neck in the ring mid-promo in a situation I had no prior knowledge or approval of by a wrestler that was intoxicated and under the influence. I was then told we could work together or “shit would get rough for me.”

Then in the locker room said party again threatened me, saying we could work together or shit would get rough for me while still having his knife by his side. I tried to remain professional and leave, as I didn’t feel comfortable with what was happening.

The owners of company have since reached out and have tried to resolve the situation as best as they can. I have been lucky enough lately to have good things happen to me in wrestling but this situation has made me very anxious, skeptical and uncertain about everything.
