After debuting on TNT on 10/02, AEW: Dynamite defeated NXT for seven consecutive weeks after the black and gold brand debuted on the USA Network the month prior.
With their top stars appearing on both Raw and SmackDown as part of the build towards Survivor Series, NXT has managed to defeat AEW in the ratings for the last two weeks running.
Now Bryan Alvarez is reporting that NXT’s lead over AEW has ended. The new promotion defeated NXT in the ratings once again this week.
The margin of victory was the smallest it has been though, with AEW: Dynamite on bringing in 6,000 more viewers than last night’s episode of NXT.
AEW: 851,000
NXT: 845,000— Bryan Alvarez (@bryanalvarez) December 5, 2019
This will not be alarming to either WWE or AEW, and I expect both companies to actually be rather happy with the impressive numbers that Dynamite and NXT are bringing in.
NXT has loaded next week’s show with an awesome triple threat match between Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Finn Balor. The winner will challenge Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.
