The viewership numbers are in, and as might have been expected, AEW won by quite a decisive margin as it was the only show to air live wrestling.
Dynamite drew 932,000 viewers, whereas NXT dropped to 542,000. The only time there has been a bigger difference was for the January 1 episodes, which saw Dynamite pull 967,000 compared to NXT’s 458,000.
AEW held Dynamite at Daily’s Place in an empty arena, with only a few members of talent at ringside acting as the crowd.
NXT, on the other hand, opted to host no live wrestling, but instead a show consisting of video packages and character profiles.
Matt Hardy, as a replacement for Nick Jackson in Blood & Guts, and Brodie Lee, as the Exalted One of Dark Order, both made their AEW debuts last night.
As of now, AEW is still planning on having Dynamite next week, but hasn’t confirmed as such in case circumstances change.
