Ten days ago, WWE decided to release several wrestlers including Drake Maverick, Zack Ryder and Mike Kanellis as part of a cost-cutting measure brought on by the Coronavirus.
The releases did not just apply to main roster stars, with NXT star Deonna Purrazzo also being, unfortunately, let go by the company earlier this month.
Prior to joining WWE in 2018, Purrazzo wrestled for the likes of ROH and Impact. However, in a brilliant interview with Gary Cassidy of SportsKeeda, Purrazzo revealed that she has her sights set on AEW.
“I guess, ideally, like, I haven’t been to AEW yet, so… Britt Baker is my best friend, she works there, they have a kick ass women’s division now. It’s a lot of people I’ve never worked with, and it’s a brand-new product – so I would love to experience that and be part of it.”
I had the pleasure of interviewing @DeonnaPurrazzo today, and of course I had to ask THE burning question…
“Where will we see The Virtuosa next?”

For those that don’t know, Purrazzo was backstage at All In and actually signed for WWE the same month as the show. It is believed that she turned down a chance to wrestle at the historic event in favour of a WWE move.
Purrazzo would be a great addition to AEW’s women’s division that is severely lacking in star power. The addition of Purrazzo could do wonders for the division.
