In May 2019 rumours started making the rounds that Vince McMahon had told current United States Champion Andrade to learn English if he was ever going to get a push on the main roster.
The rumours resurfaced earlier this week, when Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that he had confirmed the rumours as true, and that his fiancee Charlotte Flair had been helping him.
Unsurprisingly, when this report was put to Andrade, the Mexican wrestler denied that it was true.
A translated report from Super Luchas reads:
“This morning, we informed Andrade about a report by the journalist Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, who assured us that Mr. Vince McMahon had met with Andrade, when the Mexican allegedly went to speak to him along with his fiancee Charlotte Flair, to ask [McMahon] to put him in a top position on a company poster. However, Andrade, who is a faithful reader of ours and friend, denied the news given by Ross Sapp.”
You wouldn’t expect Andrade to confirm the reports as doing so could get him quite a bit of heat with McMahon, but it’s interesting that he has done so just after the rumour was reportedly confirmed.
It’s common knowledge that Vince does prefer his stars to have a good level of English, even if they aren’t planning on using it on TV.
