Both AEW and WWE have received it’s fair amount of negative press for deciding to put on live shows during the Coronavirus pandemic, due to the increased risk of the virus spreading.
Last night’s AEW: Dynamite was taped live for the first time in several weeks, and a number of precautions were taken ahead of the show to ensure the safety of all staff and wrestlers, as President Tony Khan explains in the below tweet.
#AEWDynamite is live tonight on TNT at 8pm ET/7CT! I’ve tested negative for COVID as have all wrestlers & staff here, we’re taking best precautions possible & it’ll be a great show with the debut of Matt Hardy teaming w/ Kenny Omega v. Jericho & Guevara, + @JonMoxley v. Kazarian! pic.twitter.com/Kh56Drk5I4

There is still a very valid debate as to whether there should be any wrestling at all given the risks, but while it is still going ahead, it is good to see that proper steps are being taken.
WWE is now pre-taping shows a week in advance in most cases, and also regularly testing staff and wrestlers, so both promotions are doing the right thing.
Vince McMahon has speculated in the past couple of weeks that fans could be allowed back into arenas in the near future, but whether that will actually happen is anybody’s guess.
