It was reported over the weekend that Vince McMahon thinks that there is “something missing” from a rather popular former NXT Champion and current Raw star, Aleister Black.
The report, which was originally made by Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue, noted that Vince McMahon looks at Aleister Black the same way that he looks at SmackDown Tag Team Champion, Cesaro.
“Vince thinks that there’s something missing about Aleister Black. It’s similar to how he feels about Cesaro. Keep an eye on this one because we all know how that went.”
Well, it appears as if all might not be as it initially seemed, as a new report has emerged from talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy which suggests that Vince McMahon is actually a big fan of Aleister Black.
However, McCarthy does note that Vince McMahon does have some doubts about whether or not Black’s character has the potential to be worthy of a main event slot in WW:
“After reaching out to sources, talkSPORT has learne that Vince McMahon is a ‘huge fan’ of Tom Budgen, the man behind Aleister Black. “Vince is a huge fan of the performer – and of Tommy. Size. Agility. Skill. But he is worried the character is a gimmick and will limit him,” the source disclosed.
“Some remnants of Colohue’s report certainly have merit. Paul Heyman certainly was a huge fan of Black and from what we understand, Black also liked Heyman. Our sources say Black “drank the Heyman kool aid”- as many, many have before- and was disappointed when Brock Lesnar’s advocate departed a top position on RAW.”
McCarthy goes on to note that McMahon is certainly not done pushing Black on Raw:
Any idea that McMahon is givingup on Black though are ‘absolute nonsense”.
Interestingly, Alex McCarthy has also reported that a major WWE star had surgery over the weekend and will almost certainly be missing SummerSlam. You can read more about that by clicking here.
