House shows are a ton of fun. If you haven’t been to one because it won’t be on television, well, you are missing out. One of the biggest differences between house shows and televised events is the amount of freedom the stars have in their matches. An example of this was shared by The Rock on Twitter.
The Great One retweeted a video of a funny exchange between himself and Kurt Angle from an Attitude Era house show. The video shows Angle running the ropes while The Rock exits the ring. This leaves Angle to keep running until he looks around to see where his opponent went. Great stuff.
😂 the fun we’d have when we’d wrestle non-televised shows.
Btw👇🏾 is tame compared to other things we did.
Fun fact: approximately 4yrs earlier my opponent here (@RealKurtAngle) would win an Olympic gold medal 🥇 in wrestling in 1996.
With a broken neck. True story. #toughSOB https://t.co/eJA2qIGKRv— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) July 31, 2020
The Rock’s tweet also mentions that this clip is tame compared to other things they did at house shows. He also threw in the fact that Angle won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken neck. In case you didn’t know, of course. Angle barely mentions it.
Chris Jericho has also told the story of what he and the Brahma Bull would do at house shows. On one particular tour in 2002, they would take cameras from photographers and try to make the funniest face. It is a story that has been included in Jericho’s book and a perfect example of the fun that can be had at house shows.
