In an unexpected turn of events, it appears we just got a heel turn from one of fans’ favorite wrestlers on WWE SmackDown. In hour one of the show, Shorty G was backstage watching AJ Styles and Gran Metalik.
Surprisingly, he was watching the television at a very normal angle. King Corbin walked up and said it was probably tough to watch Gran Metalik get opportunities that should be his.

He continued to pursue Chad by offering him the King’s Ransom for taking out Matt Riddle. Gable reminded him they had lots of bad blood, but Corbin said it was all motivation.
This was a very good segment. Both men worked well off each other and felt natural. This was probably my favorite Corbin segment ever.

Later, Corbin would wrestle Drew Gulak. Matt Riddle would enter the ring after the match and attack Corbin.
As Corbin was getting beat down. Shorty G ran down to make the save. He hit the rolling German Suplex. He then flashed the money signal towards Corbin.

The duo walked out together. It appears Shorty G is full heel and has aligned himself with King Corbin.
What do you think of the turn? Personally, I think it’s great and could do wonders for giving Gable the restart he needs. Let’s just hope they don’t turn him into Corbin’s court jester.
