There has been a lot of talk about the possible location for WWE SummerSlam on August 23, and there’s a new update on what WWE could have planned.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Atlantic City in New Jersey was said to be the targeted location, but of course there’s been no official announcement as of yet.
The company announced previously that it wouldn’t be taking place in Boston, Massachusetts as originally scheduled, and Vince McMahon reportedly wants to find somewhere outside of Florida where fans can attend.
There have even been rumours that WWE could go “wacky” with the location, possibly doing it on a cruise ship or some kind of outdoor setting.
The matches that WWE has officially confirmed for SummerSlam thus far are as follows:
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton – WWE Championship
- Street Profits (c) vs. Angel Garza & Andrade – Raw Tag Team Championship
- Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins
- Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP – United States Championship
