It has emerged that Paul Heyman’s own company wasn’t aware that he’d be making his WWE return last week on Friday Night SmackDown, seemingly confirming that very few people knew about the plan to pair him with Roman Reigns.
In a blog post on the Heyman Hustle website, it was noted that no one within Heyman’s company was aware that the legendary advocate would be making his WWE return last week alongside Roman Reigns:
Just so everyone is clear, we, the staff at the Hustle and our parent company #L4L The Looking4Larry Agency didn’t have a clue this was going on.
The partnership between Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman is certainly off to a good start, as Heyman helped Reigns win the Universal Championship last night in the main event of Payback.
Prior to returning on SmackDown, Paul Heyman hadn’t been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania 36 back in April, when his client Brock Lesnar dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre.
Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained why WWE decided to pair Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns together, and you can read more about that story by clicking here.
It has emerged over the last few days that WWE is planning on pushing Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman as the top heels on SmackDown, with The Fiend positioned as the brand’s top babyface.
