Following his AEW debut last alongside Kip Sabian and Penelope, some details have emerged regarding “The Best Man” Miro (formerly Rusev in WWE) and his All Elite Wrestling contract.
Fightful Select (subscription required and highly recommended) is reporting that Miro has been in talks with AEW for a while now. The site has also provided some additional information regarding Miro’s AEW deal:
AEW sources have confirmed that Miro, the former Rusev, does have a contract with the company. Fightful has learned that talks have been ongoing for quite a while, and we were told that the deal was “long term pending an option on the deal.” The contract does allow for Miro to work New Japan Pro Wrestling and some independent dates, but prohibits other American televised dates, so New Japan USA would be off the table.
As we have seen with the likes of Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho, Miro is able to work for NJPW in Japan, but will reportedly not be able to appear on NJPW USA. He will also be able to work some independent dates.
Miro has since uploaded a YouTube video where he speaks about his AEW debut, saying that he’s happy to be working for the “best pro wrestling promotion”. You can check that out by clicking here.
