According to WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling legend Gerald Brisco, he has just been released by WWE after 36 years of working for the company.
Brisco was in fact furloughed in April as part of the company-wide cuts which saw dozens of wrestlers released by the company, but it appears the decision has been made to officially terminate his contract.
He has taken to Twitter to make the announcement, and claimed Vince McMahon himself called him to break the news.
Ok, want to get this out the right way. Last night I received a call from @wwe Chairman Of The board @VinceMcMahon to let me know after 36 years of dedication to @wwe i an no longer needed. I’m ok withthis. I will still be around to help talent. More info will follow. Thanks

Joining WWE in 1984, Brisco is likely best remembered as one of Vince McMahon’s many stooges, but in more recent years he has been one of WWE’s most trusted talent scouts. Two of the people scouted by Brisco were in fact AoP, who were also released in the last 7 days.
Brisco’s TV appearances have been pretty rare, but he did briefly become the 24/7 champion in 2019 by pinning Pat Patterson.
We will update this story when we have more information.
