In a now-deleted post on Twitter, multi-time WWE World Champion Chris Jericho noted that if Jim Cornette just shut the f*ck up and pulled his head out of his ass”, then AEW would probably offer him a job within the promotion.
This came after Chris Jericho accused Jim Cornette, someone who has never been afraid to reveal how he truly feels about the AEW product, of burying him for the work he has been doing for the promotion.
Jim Cornette has since responded to Chris Jericho’s tweet, noting that even if AEW offered him a job, he wouldn’t accept it. Cornette said that there isn’t enough money in the world to get him to join AEW, especially after watching the product:
Since @IAmJericho deleted this tweet, you gotta read it here. Chris, I’ll tell ya same thing I told Tony a year & a half ago–I’m the only one who’ll tell you the truth cause I don’t WANT a job. After I’ve actually SEEN your show, there hasn’t been enough money printed to hire me
It is interesting that Cornette said that he’d tell Jericho the same thing he told Tony Khan 18 months ago, implying that he has previously been offered a role within AEW, something that will likely come as a surprise to many.
I’m not sure how well Jim Cornette working with AEW would go down, especially as he called one of the promotion’s wrestlers as “utter waste of flesh”, and also state that AEW should use the fact Nyla Rose is transgender to get her heel heat.
