Some backstage news has come to light regarding the new bodyguard of AJ Styles who was introduced on WWE Raw last night – Jordan Omogbehin.
As reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the reason Omogbehin is being presented as a bodyguard and not a wrestler in his own right is because he’s not that great in the ring when it actually comes to wrestling.
The 7’3″ former basketball player had yet to debut on NXT TV because management was aware of his apparent flaws in the ring and didn’t want to expose him as a bad worker before he was called up.
He has wrestled a few house show matches for NXT throughout his tenure in developmental, but his matches were said to not be very impressive.
He was originally brought onto the main roster at Backlash to be one of Akira Tozawa’s ninjas but then became the bouncer for Shane McMahon’s Raw Underground. With that whole ordeal seemingly scrapped for the time being, he’s now the bodyguard/enforcer for AJ Styles.
Omogbehin signed for WWE in the same recruitment class as Matt Riddle, Mia Yim, Chelsea Green, Humberto Carrillo, Damian Priest and Daniel Vidot in 2018.
