Serena Deeb and Thunder Rosa had an impressive match several weeks ago on AEW: Dynamite prior to Thunder Rosa getting a chance at the AEW Women’s Championship. The match was very good and led to Deeb getting a full-time contract.
While Deeb hasn’t been involved in any storylines on AEW, she has been chasing down Thunder Rosa for the NWA Women’s Championship. Rosa held the title for 277 days since January of this year.
Thunder Rosa defeated Allysin Kay to win the championship. Kay was the first champion since the title was reinstated in 2019. Deeb becomes just the 3rd champion since the NWA reinstated the title.

Despite appearing in WWE, this is Deeb’s first major championship win for a major American promotion. Could this win push Deeb into contention for Hikaru Shida’s title in AEW?
It probably should, but AEW hasn’t been too keen on actually giving Shida a storyline on Dynamite. Deeb is a veteran of the business and is someone the younger roster in AEW would benefit from.
Many are also speculating this could mean Thunder Rosa might be on the move to AEW full time.
Congratulations to Deeb on winning the NWA Women’s Championship!
