It’s being reported that several people backstage in WWE are expressing that they want a particular SmackDown star to be pushed and used more.
It’s no secret that WWE hasn’t used Chad Gable to his full potential throughout his career. He dropped the Shorty G gimmick on SmackDown TV a couple of weeks ago, but hasn’t been seen since.
WrestlingNews.co is reporting that several backstage personnel are getting behind Gable.
The site notes that Vince McMahon actually is a fan of Gable and respects his accomplishments before he started pro-wrestling, and the Shorty G gimmick was intended to be a positive change to give him a bit more character.
There was a comparison drawn between Gable and Angle in the sense that McMahon had Angle doing comedy early in his career for the same reason.
The report also clarifies that, although he hasn’t been used since the name change, there are still plans to push the former Tag Team Champion. Once again, Daniel Bryan continues to be one influential name backstage who has the backing of Gable.
