It has been almost a decade since Davey Boy Smith Jr. has been seen in WWE. However, that could be changing as he recently said a return to the company is very possible.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, the former David Hart Smith talked about not being able to compete with All Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year. Here is the quote:
“I think it’s definitely a possibility. In addition to the WWE Hall of Fame, I was also supposed to be touring regularly with All Japan Pro Wrestling. I had a big opportunity with their Champion Carnival tournament in April, but I couldn’t travel to with the pandemic. I have a lot to think about and a lot of options to weigh, but I’m looking forward to seeing what transpires in my future. A return to WWE is very possible.”
Smith worked on the WWE main roster from 2007 to 2011, competing in his last match with the company in a loss to Zack Ryder on Superstars. During his time with the company, he won the WWE Unified Tag Team Championship with Tyson Kidd as part of the Hart Dynasty.
Since his release, he has primarily worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling. However, since leaving New Japan last year, Davey Boy Smith Jr. has also worked for MLW and Impact.
