One of the most heartwarming moments in modern wrestling history took place during this past weekend’s men’s Royal Rumble match, when Christian made a shock appearance before he and Edge shared a tear-jerking embrace in the middle of the ring.
PWInsider has since reported that while it may have looked like a one-off appearance for Christian, he may well be working a part-time schedule from now on, and it seems one top WWE star is already looking for a fight.
Current Intercontinental Champion Big E tweeted a picture of himself and Christian from back in 2014, possibly teasing a match that many say Christian is owed.

His final match before he was forced to retire came on Raw in 2014, when he defeated Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler to win a shot at Big E’s Intercontinental Championship. Unfortunately, the match never took place, so could we finally be getting the match that was promised?
If Christian is set to stick around, a feud with Big E going into WrestleMania would be very high up on fans’ list of desired feuds, and would definitely elevate both Big E and his belt.
