An actor has just been announced to portray WWE chairman Vince McMahon for the first time ever.
Comedian Adam Ray will portray Mr McMahon in the upcoming TV show Young Rock. This is the first time that the WWE CEO will be portrayed on TV by an actor, ever.
Dwayne Johnson took to social media to announce the casting of McMahon. Ray will portray an early 1980s version of McMahon, with the show starting before the wrestling boom. In the same post, Kevin Makely was confirmed to be portraying Randy Savage.
The Rock noted that these two roles were particularly hard to cast, tweeting:
“Two iconic men who weren’t easy to cast, but I think we delivered. @kevin_makely is the Macho Man and @adamraycomedy is the @wwe chairman Vince McMahon. Circa 1982.. before the wrestling boom. #YoungRock premieres THIS TUES on @NBC!!!”
Adam Ray couldn’t contain his excitement after the reveal, tweeting some behind-the-scenes photos of him in costume as McMahon.
