WWE has announced a steel cage match with high stakes for next week’s March 5 episode of SmackDown on FOX.
The match was made on today’s episode of Talking Smack, during which Daniel Bryan appeared as a guest.
As well as being special counsel to Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman is also the co-host for Talking Smack, so naturally there was some hostility.
On the prior episode of SmackDown, Reigns had ambushed Bryan following Bryan’s match with Reigns’ cousin Jey Uso, which ended in a double countout.
Because of the inconclusive finish, there’ll be another Bryan vs Uso match next week, but this time it’ll be inside a steel cage.
Moreover, if Bryan wins, he gets a Universal Championship shot against Reigns at Fastlane on March 21.
This all comes after Bryan won the Elimination Chamber on February 21 to earn a shot against Reigns, but it happened immediately after the Chamber match so it was an easy Reigns win.
