Last week, WWE began announcing that Randy Orton would go one-on-one with Braun Strowman on Monday Night Raw last night. As we know, the match didn’t end up taking place.
Instead, Randy Orton was pinned by Riddle, while Braun Strowman teamed with Drew McIntyre as the pair were beaten by MACE and T-Bar, formerly of RETRIBUTION.
Speaking about why the proposed Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton match didn’t go ahead, PWInsider is reporting that the decision was made, unsurprisingly, by Vince McMahon.
We have had a number of readers ask what happened to Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton, which had been advertised all week for Raw. We are told that when today’s production meeting began for Raw, the match had already been changed to Orton vs. Riddle without explanation and instead Braun was written into the Drew McIntyre storyline. So, it was a Vince McMahon call.
While we now know who made the decision to cancel the proposed Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton match, there is still no word on why that decision was made. For any updates, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
