Aleister Black was one of six names released by WWE earlier today (June 2), and he’s now spoken to fans on his wife Zelina Vega’s Twitch account about his release and his future plans.
Aside from thanking WWE for his time with the company, he also explained that budget cuts was the reason he was given as to why he was released alongside Braun Strowman, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett.
He also explained that he doesn’t own the Aleister Black name, and said former WWE star Andrade is someone he would love to face when his non-compete clause expires at the start of September 2021.
Interestingly, Black said he was actually supposed to win the United States Championship during the past year, but the decision was made by Vince McMahon to hold off on the title win, because Vince didn’t want his first title to be won in front of an empty arena.
As previously mentioned, Black was released alongside Braun Strowman, and Black admitted he was very shocked to see Braun released. He added that he thinks Lana especially will do very well outside of WWE.
Lastly, he noted that he was going to be debuting new music in the near future, but of course his release means that won’t happen.
