WWE fans have taken to social media to slam the main event of yesterday night’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
During last night’s show, Drew McIntyre was defeated by Bobby Lashley, with a number of assists from MVP. As per the stipulation, McIntyre will not be able to challenge for the WWE Championship, as long as Lashley holds the title.
Numerous viewers have criticised the match, taking issue with the finish. Discussing the main event, one fan tweeted:
“Very very good main event with Bobby Lashley retaining the WWE Championship over Drew McIntyre but that finish was awful. Your really going to do a roll up finish inside of Hell in a Cell instead of some cool finish. “
Not enjoying MVP’s involvement, another fan tweeted:
“The ending of WWE Hell in a Cell was absolutely awful, MVP should not have interfered.”
Noting that the show felt predictable, another tweeted:
“WWE terrible predictable hell in a cell, if no one loses a belt what’s the point in having them? Awful writing, great athletes.”
Lots of fans experienced technical issues with Peacock when trying to stream Hell in a Cell. Throughout the show, fans took to Twitter to state that they were receiving “CDN error” messages.
Peacock responded to a fan during the show, tweeting:
“Hi, thanks for reaching out! We were experiencing a slight delay, but WWE Hell in a Cell is up and streaming again. If you’re still experiencing issues and rebooting your device doesn’t help, please shoot us a DM with your device details and we would be happy to assist.”
It has recently been reported that Vince McMahon recognises that the WWE product is stale, but is waiting for the return of fans to share “the good stuff”.
