Could WWE be preparing to Nikki Cross’ name to Nikki A.S.H (almost a superhero) due to the imminent main roster call-up of NXT Champion Karrion Kross?
After wrestling on Main Event last week, it was reported that Karrion Kross is on WWE’s list for main roster call-ups, and Bryan Alvarez noted on the Wrestling Observer Live that this “could” be why WWE is seemingly preparing to change Cross’ name:
“That could be part of it. One of the keys is that they’re spelled differently, so I don’t know how militant Vince is going to be about having two Crosses on the main roster when one is spelled one way and another is spelled another way. My guess is that you’re right, because Karrion Kross is doing the tryout matches on main event and then Nikki Cross the same week gets a new name. So, I would not be in the least bit surprised. I’m not reporting that, everybody, but I would not be surprised if that’s why she got her new name.”
It’s important to note that Bryan Alvarez isn’t reporting that Karrion Kross’ call-up is why Nikki Cross is seemingly getting a name change, but the fact that WWE doesn’t like two people having the same first or surname certainly means it’s feasible.
