An update has come to light regarding the scheduled Bianca Belair vs Sasha Banks SmackDown Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam.
Both Belair and Banks were pulled from this past weekend’s Saturday and Sunday house shows due to “unforseen circumstances” despite being on SmackDown on Friday, and there was reportedly concern within WWE that the SummerSlam match may have been in jeopardy.
PWInsider is now reporting that Banks and Belair are both cleared and currently scheduled to be at SmackDown this coming Friday and SummerSlam on Saturday.
So barring “something unforseen” happening, the match will be going ahead as planned.
There is still no reason known as to why they both missed this past weekend’s house shows beyond the “unforseen circumstances” line.
Bianca Belair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Title in a rematch against Sasha Banks from WrestleMania, which is where she had initially beaten Banks for the title.
