One of the biggest talking points from SummerSlam on Saturday night was the shocking return of Becky Lynch, when she defeated Bianca Belair in 27 seconds to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Earlier today, it was being reported that WWE would be positioning Becky has a heel on the SmackDown brand moving forward, and that she would be feuding with Bianca Belair.
In an update from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Daily, the turn was actually something that Becky herself requested, and it seems to have been granted by WWE officials.
Becky’s moment at SummerSlam was rather polarising, but it seems like WWE had this plan all along.
