Mas Lucha reports Raw talent Gran Metalik has asked WWE for his release, after five years with the company. The report cited a “lack of opportunities” as one reason Metalik has requested out of his current contract.
It was also noted that his deal currently isn’t set to expire until 2023. WWE recently renegotiated a number of WWE contracts, however it is unclear if Metalik was one of the stars who had their deal altered.
Metalik first wrestled for WWE in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, making it to the finals of the tournament. In early 2018, Metalik formed the Lucha House Party faction with Lince Dorado and Kalisto.
Metalik and Dorado were both drafted to Raw in October 2020. He recently wrestled alongside Dorado on the September 6 edition of Raw, losing to The New Day in Tag Team Turmoil.
Prior to joining WWE, Metalik wrestled around the world for the likes of NJPW and CMLL.
