AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has revealed that a dream match with Mick Foley almost happened ‘a few years back’.
On Twitter, a user noted that they have always wanted to see Omega and Foley go head-to-head in singles competition. Omega replied, revealing that plans for a bout with the WWE Hall of Famer ultimately resulted in a ‘fun mic battle’.
Noting that their match would’ve been something special, Omega tweeted:
“Little known fact is that this almost happened a few years back. Ended up as a fun mic battle instead. Would’ve been something special.”
Foley notably cut a promo on Kenny Omega at Starrcast 2019, as Cactus Jack. The Hall of Famer has reportedly had heat with WWE after his comments about AEW becoming a problem for the company.
Omega recently argued that ‘WWE is desperate‘, citing their use of ‘legends’ as evidence.
