A new report has revealed the upcoming pay-per-view dates on the internal WWE calendar, seemingly revealing the future of NXT TakeOver specials.
Following the date of the December WWE pay-per-view changing, it was recently reported that there is no longer a major show listed for the final month of 2021.
As per PWInsider, Survivor Series on November 21 will be the final pay-per-view of the year. There are two pay-per-views currently listed for January 2022, Day 1 on January 1, and Royal Rumble on January 29.
Following Crown Jewel, the WWE pay-per-view calendar will feature:
11/21/21 – Survivor Series in Brooklyn, NY
1/1/22 – Day 1 in Atlanta, GA
1/29/22 – Royal Rumble in St. Louis.
PWInsider also noted that there are currently no NXT TakeOver pay-per-view events listed internally for November or December. It has been speculated whether the NXT TakeOver shows would continue, following last month’s brand reboot.
The absence of a TakeOver event on the internal calendar could mean that the series ended with NXT TakeOver 36 in August, however it could mean that the events will take place less frequently than before, or will just be special episodes of NXT airing on the USA Network.
The NXT Halloween Havoc special airs on TV next Tuesday, with NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa set to defend his gold against Bron Breakker on the show.
