Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Matthews (fka Buddy Murphy) has also been announced for Battle in the Valley.
The Rainmaker hasn’t wrestled in the US since teaming with Will Ospreay to do battle with Amazing Red & Kota Ibushi at NJPW Showdown in November 2019.
Okada recently won the 2021 G1 Climax tournament, defeating Kota Ibushi in the final due to injury stoppage. Katsuyori Shibata made a shock return to action during the G1 Climax 31 finals in an exhibition match, his first bout since 2017.
