WWE Raw star Doudrop has spoken in an interview about the recent WWE release of Eva Marie who was let go by the company last week.
Doudrop was paired with Marie upon her move to the main roster from NXT UK, in what was positioned as Marie trying to ‘use’ Doudrop, which led to the Scot getting frustrated and eventually turning on Marie.
In a new interview with Metro.co.uk, Doudrop said:
“Honestly, I’m absolutely heartbroken because that woman is a big sister to me. Behind the scenes, she is the nicest person you will ever meet… Every single person, she’s got a funny story with them. I just love her so much.
“I hope it’s not the last we’ve seen of her in WWE, I think she’s amazing. When you see her in real life, you’re like… you’re amazing at being a heel. But time will tell – who knows what will happen in this crazy world?
“I feel like everything that has been thrown at me, I’ve knocked out of the park – especially being with Eva. She obviously has been here before so for me it was a bit calming to have someone that had the experience, and who could guide me.”
Doudrop was on the WWE UK tour this past week, competing in three-way matches for the Raw Women’s Championship along with Bianca Belair and defending champion Becky Lynch.
On TV, she’s on a two-match losing streak to Queen Zelina, one of which was at the October 21 Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia in the Queen’s Crown tournament final, with the other taking place the Monday after.
Eva Marie’s last two matches in WWE were losses to Doudrop herself.
