Lucha Libre AAA has announced that John Hennigan will challenge for Hijo De Vikingo’s AAA Mega Championship at Rey De Reyes 2022.
Hennigan might not be the only recently released WWE name set for action on the February 19,2022 show. As per Dave Meltzer in the Wresting Observer Newsletter, AAA has been in talks with other former WWE stars about appearances at major shows in early 2022, including Rey De Reyes.
The actual Rey De Reyes 2022 match currently has one competitor TBA, so talks with outside-talent could potentially be for this bout. So far, Laredo Kid, Bandido, Cibernetico and Psycho Clown have been announced for the match.
Earlier this year, it was reported that AAA had shown interest in Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, Gran Metalik & Taya Valkyrie. Valkyrie announced her return to the promotion in a video package that played at TripleMania Regia.
Here is the announced line-up for the Rey De Reyes 2022:
- Hijo del Vikingo (c) vs. John Hennigan – AAA Mega Championship
