Kyle O’Reilly made his AEW in-ring debut in the main event of last night’s (December 29) New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Dynamite, where he teamed with Adam Cole and Bobby Fish to defeat Orange Cassidy and Best Friends.
O’Reilly and Fish made their entrance together for the match, where they were announced by their old team name ‘reDRagon’, with O’Reilly picking up the victory after he and Fish hit the ‘Chasing The Dragon’ finishing move.
Matt Hardy posted a tweet after the match, reflecting on reDRagon teaming together again, saying that he and Jeff always wanted to face the duo.
He tweeted:
Gotta be honest – It was great to hear the team name of “reDRagon” & the finisher “Chasing the Dragon” on #AEWDynamite tonight.. @theBobbyFish & @KORcombat are HUGE pickups for @AEW. It’s a team that @JEFFHARDYBRAND & I always wanted to wrestle against.
O’Reilly responded to Matt’s tweet, saying that it would be an honor for him and Fish to face the Hardy Boyz.
He said:
This is rad. It would be an honor to wrestle the Hardy Boyz. #aewdynamite
Jeff Hardy was released from WWE back on December 9, and is currently subject to a 90 day non-compete clause. The Young Bucks have also been teasing Jeff’s potential arrival in AEW.
