AEW has edited out a controversial line from a Max Caster rap before Anthony Bowens’ match with Orange Cassidy.
As Rampage is filmed ahead of its airing, there was some question whether or not the rap would make it to air at all as it included several controversial lines.
As shown in footage posted on Twitter that was captured by fans in attendance for the taping on Wednesday, the rap from Max Caster live included the line “Play with the Acclaimed, you gotta be stupid. This guy’s as popular as Vladimir Putin,” although that line did not appear on television.
The rest of the rap which itself could be seen as provocative was left intact with Caster rapping:
“Yo I don’t like you, Anthony is about to come fight you. Best Friends, very nice, very evil. But I guess you’re not friends with any Black people.”
The entire rap was likely not cut from the entrance since it set up an exchange in the ring with Orange Cassidy where he teased taking a turn on the mic himself, rather opting to simply state, “Word to your Mother.”
Orange Cassidy went on to defeat Anthony Bowens in the match after a distraction interference by Danhausen, thus qualifying for the Face of the Revolution ladder match.
