The showrunners are now set for the upcoming ‘United States of America vs Vince McMahon’ limited series.
Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster will be co-showrunners for the WWE & Blumhouse TV project, according to Deadline.
The duo notably received an Emmy nomination for their work on the Amazon Original series ‘Transparent’, and notably wrote the Acclaimed ‘It’s A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood’ film starring Tom Hanks.
The series currently in development will feature a scripted portrayal of Vince McMahon during the 1990s, around the time of the infamous steroid trial.
Per Deadline:
The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon will delve into WWE during the 1990s, a time when McMahon was repeatedly censured by infamous New York Post writer Phil Mushnick whose columns eventually drew the attention of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York. McMahon was indicted by the U.S. government for allegedly supplying anabolic steroids to WWE talent, stood trial after refusing to take a plea, but was unanimously acquitted by the jury.
A Vince McMahon documentary series based on the WWE Chairman is also in the works, and is expected to drop on Netflix later this year.
