Last week, WWE announced on The Bump that Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair would be facing Sonya Deville at WrestleMania Backlash.
The match was made after Deville attacked Belair on last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, with Bianca signing a contract for a match without first checking who her opponent would be.
Interestingly, and likely because they realised it after announcing it on The Bump, the match has now been moved off WrestleMania Backlash and will instead take place on next week’s Raw.
The show will be taped in Knoxville, Tennessee, which just so happens to be Bianca’s hometown, so that certainly appears to be the reason behind the sudden change.
You’d have thought they may have noticed that a bit more in advance, but apparently not.
Belair has held the title since defeated Becky Lynch in a fantastic match on WrestleMania 38 Night One. Lynch hasn’t been on TV since WrestleMania, so is likely taking some time away from the ring before returning.
If we get a confirmation as to the reason for the match date change, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
