NBC has announced a time-slot for season three of Young Rock, revealing that the series will run directly against WWE SmackDown.
It was recently confirmed that the sitcom based on Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s younger years has been renewed for a third season.
NBC has now confirmed that the show will return in November, and air on Friday nights from 8:30-9pm ET. WWE SmackDown notably airs on FOX between 8pm-10pm ET.
Young Rock does relatively well in terms of viewership. The most recent (May 10) episode had the lowest total viewership in the history of the show, at 1.88 million, with a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Episodes in the second season have generally drawn around 2 million viewers. For comparison, the May 6 edition of WWE SmackDown drew 1.998 million viewers, with a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demo.
It will be interesting to see how each show’s viewership is impacted by the clash.
Top WWE stars including Roman Reigns are scheduled to speak during the FOX upfront presentations to advertisers this afternoon.
